This year we are attempting to grow our own heirloom tomatoes from seeds. We saved some seeds from last year from heirloom tomatoes we bought at the farmer’s market. We planted 8 seeds in the hopes of getting at least 2 to grow into plants and put them on a South-facing window sill. After the last frost of the season (we’re probably safe in a few weeks), if our seeds spout, the plan is to plant them out on our balcony in larger pots. The small pots that the seeds are in are compostable, so you just plant the whole thing in your larger pot, instead of having to transfer them. Here’s hoping we get some tomato plants soon!
